Our next featured homeowner capitalized on her extensive experience with the housing market to help create the perfect home for her family. Realtor Maddy and her husband, Jose (who plays professional baseball for the San Diego Padres!) knew exactly what they wanted in terms of look, functionality, and layout and they’re delighted with the results of their hard work! Eastbrook Homes invites you to take a peek behind the curtain of Maddy and Jose’s exceptional homebuilding experience and join in as we hear about their favorite home elements and homeowner tips.

When did you move into your home?

We moved into our home on January 17th!

What home plan do you have?

We have the Ivy home plan!

How did you incorporate your family’s lifestyle into your home?

We have not done tons of decorating yet, however, I am very excited to do my home office, since I work from home. I am a realtor! In addition, we like to entertain so we are very excited to finish our basement and outdoor living spaces!

What is your decorating inspiration?

I have a more minimalist/contemporary/modern style. 

What do you love about your Eastbrook community?

I love how close the neighbors are! I cannot wait to meet more of my neighbors during the summertime when we are able to spend more time outside. 

What are your favorite features in your home?

My favorite would be my kitchen. I love cooking and am excited to have an island! 

What was your building process /Eastbrook experience like?

The experience was great. Kurt and Chad were extremely prompt with communication and I was given great updates about where the house was. Chad treated me like a friend and offered advice and walked through everything, which made the whole process feel more genuine. 

What does “home” mean to you?

Home for my family means the same as most, but it is more of a “home base” for us. It is where I feel most comfortable and where we have a consistent routine, but it is not necessarily where we spend the most time. My husband, Jose, plays professional baseball for the San Diego Padres so we spend the majority of our time during the season traveling to San Diego and other away series. 

Do you have any tips or tricks for new homeowners?

When packing to move to the new house declutter before you pack up. You do not want to have to unpack items that you do not want.
