Snowflakes are falling and holidays are calling as winter arrives in West Michigan! Eastbrook Homes invites you to pour a mug of your favorite snowy-season beverage and join us for the much-anticipated holiday edition of our popular Homeowner Highlight series. Our West Michigan and Greater Lansing Area Eastbrook homeowners are welcoming us out of the cold and into their hearts and homes to share time-honored traditions, bright and creative decor ideas, and inspiring holiday tips. Bring joy, relaxation, and warm memories to your home and hearth this year by settling in and learning about the delightful stories behind our Eastbrook Homes communities.

For some families, Michigan’s first snow signals the start of cookie, pie, and cake season! Eastbrook homeowner Michelle is no stranger to baking; with her stunning Newport home and open, light-filled kitchen waiting for her, it’s no wonder she’s most looking forward to baking Christmas cookies with her family this holiday season. Read along as we discover some of Michelle’s favorite holiday traditions and home features.

What does “Home for the Holidays” mean to you?

This means spending time with my family, in my childhood home, all under one roof.

What is your favorite Christmas tradition?

My favorite Christmas tradition is baking and decorating Christmas cookies with my mom, sisters, daughter, and nieces.

How would you describe your Christmas decor style?

My style is traditional with a touch of farmhouse.

What is your favorite feature in your home, and why?

My favorite feature is my 9.5-foot Christmas tree with a deer head on top. It is my favorite because it looks like a tree from Kirkland’s, where I love to shop during Christmas.

What home plan did you build or buy?

Newport

What do you love about your Eastbrook community?

I love how we have such a tight-knit neighborhood where we are all friends and we feel like family.

What’s your favorite way to spread holiday cheer?

My favorite way to spread holiday cheer is by baking cookies for family and friends.

Michelle lives in Caledonia near Byron Center, one of West Michigan’s most family-friendly areas. Only 15 miles outside of Grand Rapids, Byron Center offers exceptional, award-winning school districts, stunning parks with paved trails, and seasonal events designed to capture the spirit of the holiday season for all ages. Eastbrook Homes proudly offers three communities in the Byron Center area: Walnut Ridge, with single-family, townhome, and courtyard homes in the Byron Center school district, Preservation Lakes, a waterfront single-family and condominium community in the Caledonia school district, and Cooks Crossing, a single-family, townhome, and courtyard homes community located within walking distance to the area’s best schools.
