Living in West Michigan creates a special connection between people and the water. Whether it’s the Lake Michigan coast or the shoreline of smaller bodies of water like Lake Macatawa or Muskegon Lake, living near the Lakeshore is a big part of what makes many of us want to call West Michigan our home.
WoodTV’s lifestyle show, eightWest, highlights many of the people and places that make West Michigan even more special. Recently, the hosts of eightWest turned their cameras on Tannery Bay, Eastbrook Homes’ waterfront community sitting on the shores of beautiful White Lake.
Waterfront Community on White Lake
Located just north of Muskegon, Tannery Bay offers several options for low-maintenance living set in a resort atmosphere. The community also features a fire pit, bocce ball court, a private beach, and is working towards adding a pool and marina.
New home buyers have a variety of choices for low maintenance living, such as Beach Homes like the Bay Harbor model, the Mackinaw, and the Charlevoix. Other choices include the Empire in Marina Cove or stand-alone townhomes like the Manistee.
With the launch of Phase Two, Tannery Bay will also feature homesites right on the shores of White Lake, where homebuyers can enjoy low-maintenance, beachfront living along with Tannery Bay’s other wonderful amenities.
While touring Tannery Bay, the eightWest team talked with some of the residents about what makes this waterfront location such an amazing place to live.
The McKenna Family
Originally from Hudsonville, Mary and Kevin McKenna fell in love with the main floor living space and extra room upstairs in the Bay Harbor floor plan. This popular design includes a second-floor balcony overlooking the community’s greenspace.
The McKenna’s decided they didn’t want to live just anywhere. They chose Tannery Bay because the low-maintenance, beachfront lifestyle made them feel like they were on vacation all the time. Although they have their own private greenspace to care for if they choose, all other maintenance is handled for them including yard maintenance and snow removal.
The McKenna’s also love the social aspect of Tannery Bay. After a walk to the beach, Mary and Kevin will often be joined by other residents to watch one of West Michigan’s spectacular sunsets.
