2024 Holiday Homeowner Highlight Series: Molly and Armando

It’s that time again! The holidays are upon us, and the wonderful Eastbrook Homes homeowners of the West Michigan and Greater Lansing areas are inviting us into their beautifully decorated homes for our holiday edition of our popular Homeowner Highlight series. Here, we learn about their family traditions, great holiday season tips and all the creative ways they’ve chosen to trim their walls and deck their halls with festive garlands and greenery. 

In this edition, Eastbrook homeowners Molly and Armando gather in Rockford, MI, with their family and friends to welcome the season. Living out of state for part of their lives, they really value how close they are to family now after moving to Autumn Trails. And with nearly 2,000 square feet of space, The Marley home plan offers ample area for bringing families together, sharing good food, and playing games throughout the holidays.

When did you move into your Eastbrook Home?

We moved in in the beginning of August, 2024.

What community do you live in?

Autumn Trails

What has been your favorite thing about this community?

We love how accessible the neighborhood is to downtown Rockford (just a quick walk down the White Pine Trail) and downtown Grand Rapids!

How do you celebrate the holidays in your home?

We love to host whenever we can. We enjoy getting all of our family and friends together, sharing good food, and playing games. We used to live out-of-state from both sides of our family, so we haven’t always been able to celebrate in our own home. Now that we live closer to some family, we are able to spend more time at home!

What is your holiday decoration inspiration?

I typically browse on sites like West Elm and Crate and Barrel – I like classic & clean holiday decor.

Are you hosting any holiday parties in your home? If so, what does that look like for you?

We are hosting Thanksgiving and New Years Eve! We handle all the cooking for Thanksgiving – we really like making as much as we can from scratch! We have a themed event for New Years Eve (and a much larger invite list!) and we’re already thinking about all the food and activities that we’ll have. We will have guests from out-of-state for both holidays, so we are really grateful to have a big open space for everyone to be together, as well as enough room for our friends and family to stay in our home with us. We definitely put a lot of effort into hosting and we’re really excited to host more in our new home!

What does “home for the holidays” mean to you?

Just being with family and friends! We always have so many places to go and people to see during the holidays, that it doesn’t matter so much where we are, but who we get to spend time with! 

Are you planning on participating in any holiday event or activity in the greater community you’re now in? If so, which ones?

We haven’t planned for anything specific, but we try to attend the festivals and events that go on in Rockford!

Any other memories or things that stand out to you about your Eastbrook Journey that you would like to share?

It was almost exactly a year ago that we did our design selections with Eastbrook! It is so crazy to think about where we were a year ago to now! The entire process went so fast and was so easy. Everything came together just how we envisioned and we’ve been really happy with our decision to build with Eastbrook.

Living in Rockford, MI, was a must for Molly and Armando, and our Autumn Trails community allows easy access to all Rockford has to offer, from White Pine Trail, Meijer Sports Complex, and proximity to all the attractions of downtown.
