The Legacy Series: A Spotlight on Eastbrook’s Newest Home Plans

At Eastbrook Homes, we’re committed to providing an unparalleled homebuilding experience that ensures you can build a dream home that’s full of personalized details you love. That means listening to what our homeowners want and expanding our design options to include those sought-after features.
We’re proud to share those new designs as part of our Legacy series, currently featuring three home plans: the Rhodes, Bristol, and Windsor. The Legacy series is part of our ongoing dedication to designing with homeowners in mind.
“We’re seeing what the public wants, and we’re responding to it,” says Jim Stortz, Director of Architecture at Eastbrook Homes. “At the same time, we’re leading with options that we don’t see with other builders.”
Features of the Legacy Series
The Legacy series represents the next step in Eastbrook’s commitment to providing premium home designs. That’s why each home plan in this series includes a host of luxurious features as part of the base model:
- Larger doorways: Main floor doors stand at an impressive eight feet tall, adding the home’s sense of openness and scale.
- Pantry and prep kitchen: All Legacy home plans include expansive working pantries, with one home plan even featuring a prep kitchen with additional cabinetry beyond the extensive shelving already included.
- Expanded basement height: To accommodate utility space while keeping with the spaciousness of the rest of the home, Legacy series homes include a nine-foot basement.
- Third-stall garage: In addition to the standard two-car garage, a 12-foot third-stall garage is included as a feature exclusive to the Legacy series.
- Unique exterior architecture: Differentiating them from other Eastbrook homes, the Legacy series incorporates elements of prairie, modern and “Midwest Mountain” architecture for a striking and unique exterior style.
Beyond the features incorporated into the base designs of all Legacy series homes, each home plan contains a suite of individual elements that give you options when choosing your next dream home.
The Rhodes
Like all homes in the Legacy series, the openness of the Rhodes is apparent from the moment you walk in the front door. The two-story foyer creates a welcoming and expansive first impression before making your way into the two-story great room and an iconic addition to the Legacy series: the hearth room.
The hearth room takes the features of a traditional Michigan room and integrates them into the main living area, blending comfort and communal space.
“They can have it integrated into their home where they don’t necessarily need another bedroom on the main floor,” says Jim. “It typically has a two-way fireplace in it, which gives it a bit of an old-style den feel that’s more cozy.”
The kitchen attached to the great room shares the rest of the home’s open feel, with plenty of natural light and the option to barrel vault the ceiling to create an even greater sense of space.
“In the Rhodes home plan, we’ve introduced the option to have a barrel vaulted ceiling above the kitchen. I think that’s going to be a very unique feature; I haven’t seen a barrel vault in many homes, especially in West Michigan.”
With a main-level owner’s suite, three upstairs bedrooms, and a lower level that offers additional flexibility in customizing your home, the Rhodes embodies the spacious, adaptable design that defines the Legacy series.
The Bristol
The open-concept Bristol offers plenty of natural light and a feeling of connectedness throughout the home. The entryway and flex room open into the sweeping two-story great room, dining room, and kitchen area. The walk-in pantry included in the kitchen is another design feature that Eastbrook has focused on as part of the Legacy series
“One of the features that we’ve really elevated would be the pantries,” says Jim. “It has an enormous amount of cabinetry in addition to the shelving that’s included in that. So that’s an elevated pantry that we have not seen too much of [in other homes].”
With a first-floor owner’s suite, three second-floor bedrooms, and a basement that has the option to be finished, the Bristol includes all the hallmarks of Eastbrook’s commitment to helping homeowners customize their dream home to meet their family’s lifestyle. It’s not just the main living spaces that offer flexibility, though. Homeowners can leave their personal touch in every room, especially with the Legacy series.
“The increased space in laundry rooms and mudrooms allows for more customization options in those areas for homebuyers. We’re giving them even more opportunity to personalize their home.”
The Windsor
The Windsor is a luxurious ranch-style home that shares the expansiveness of other Legacy series plans while maintaining the ease of movement that comes with a single-story home.
“The Windsor is definitely my favorite. It’s a single-level home, and everything that you would want is on that level,” says Jim. “It really gives you a lot of openness and space, but also has every room that most people are looking for.”
The 12-foot ceilings offer a striking sense of scale as you walk through the entryway and into the cozy family room. The owner’s suite, designed as a private wing of this impressive home plan, includes a spa-like bathroom that’s home to some of the most exciting new features of the Legacy series.
“In our primary bathrooms, we include a tile shower. We’ve really enlarged those to give people more glass and a lot more tile,” says Jim. “We’ve introduced options that have two showerheads, two entrances, and benches built in, so we’ve elevated the showers to accommodate what people have been asking for.”
On the opposite wing of the owner’s suite is the option to have an additional main-floor bedroom. You’ll also find a half bathroom and a mudroom that serves as an entry point from the garage. To provide the customization you need to create your dream home, the Windsor also features a lower level that you can choose to finish.
