This week on the Eastbrook Homes blog, we’re talking with Margaret who, with her husband Woodrow, moved into their new Georgetown home this past summer. With the help of the Eastbrook Lending Partner, Benchmark, Margaret and Woodrow were able to get a VA loan.
Margaret was kind enough to share her Eastbrook Experience below, along with some advice for new builders.
Let’s hear what she has to say.
EBH: When did you move into your home?
M: We moved in to our home on July 15th.
EBH: What home plan do you have?
M: We chose to build a Georgetown
EBH: What is your “new home” story?
M: We thought we were going to move down south, but then grandkids starting being born. We looked at many houses for sale but didn’t meet our needs as my husband is disabled. We then drove by Lowing Woods and saw an open house sign and we decided to stop and look. We fell in love.
EBH: What does Home mean to you?
M: Family, friends and making memories. A place where we can age that will continue to meet our needs.
EBH: What are your favorite features in your home?
M: Both the open concept design to host family dinners, as well as the multiple bathrooms.
EBH: What was your building process /Eastbrook experience like?
M: It was fantastic. Everyone was easy to work with and we were treated great by the whole team.
EBH: Do you have any tips or tricks for new homeowners?
M: Meet with someone who has previously built a home and take lots of notes.
EBH: What was your Eastbrook Journey like?
M: Our whole journey was great. Working with Kurt to pick out our lot and the style of the home was really great. Working with the site manager, Chad, was also great. He answered our questions promptly and followed through on what he said.
Our lender was Benchmark Mortgage and it was seamlessly easy to work with John and his team. We feel that they worked hard to get us the best rate through the Veteran’s Administration.
Thank you so much for your insights, Margaret! It’s wonderful to hear that working with Eastbrook Homes and Benchmark’s team of mortgage professionals were both really great experiences.
