2024 Holiday Homeowner Highlight With Alan and Karen

In this edition of our 2024 Holiday Homeowner Highlight Series, Alan and Karen tackle Christmas decorating for the first time in their new home at Hathaway Lakes in Nunica, MI. When did you move into your Eastbrook Home?

August 3, 2024.

What community do you live in?

Hathaway Lakes. 

What has been your favorite thing about this community?

We just love the location. So convenient for shopping and entertainment.

How do you celebrate the holidays in your home?

We have friends and family visiting. Our big Christmas gathering is at our son’s on Christmas Eve. 

What is your holiday decoration inspiration?

This year my decorating ideas are somewhat challenging being in a new home. My goal in decorating for any season is to make our home welcoming and comfortable. 

Are you hosting any holiday parties in your home? If so, what does that look like for you?

We most likely will have several gatherings of friends and family. We usually have appetizers, cocktails and a lot of laughter and fun.

What does “home for the holidays” mean to you?

Home for the holidays means just that, home. Once in my life I couldn’t be home for Christmas Eve and it was so depressing. Our family is close so we see each other a lot but not seeing them on Christmas just wasn’t the same.

Are you planning on participating in any holiday event or activity in the greater community you’re now in? If so, which ones?

Right now we have no plans for attending community events but I’m sure that will change. 

Any other memories or things that stand out to you about your Eastbrook Journey that you would like to share?

Our whole experience with Eastbrook has been great. Right from the beginning when we met Matt Morrison he was so professional and informative that we knew we made the right decision to build with Eastbrook. We love our new home and we look forward to building many, many happy memories here.
