Welcome to bathrooms!
Your home will likely have multiple bathrooms and each one can be fully personalized with a plethora of options. You’ll start by making selection choices for your Owner’s Suite before moving onto each additional bathroom.
We are going to discuss some key items to take note of when considering bathroom design and comfort. Pay special attention to cabinet height; vanities are typically 31.5” tall and roughly 33” with the countertop. To put it in perspective this is 3 inches shorter than your normal kitchen cabinet. This may not be a good height for everyone, so you may want to explore adding what we call our “Backsaver Height option.” This option increases the cabinet height by 3” bringing it up to the same height as your kitchen cabinets and maybe a more comfortable height for you.
Another option to consider is a single bowl or double bowl vanity. Double bowls are great for giving you some personal space, and they may even help reduce arguments over who gets to brush their teeth first. Space availability and functionality will really need to be considered when determining which design is best for you.
Now we need to look at features: Wood trimmed mirrors, Pedestal Sinks, Elongated and comfort height toilets, as well as various sink styles. Your home includes a Drop In round sink with a laminate countertops, or a Round Undermount sink if you’ve chosen a hard surface counter. Additionally, you can opt for a more modern looking Rectangular Undermount, as well as choose between your included chrome plumbing fixtures or a variety of other options. Of course you’ll want to review everything to see what is going to be the best fit for your design and your budget. Remember to refer to our online design center for more details on these features.
One last key area to discuss before we conclude our exploration of bath options – is obviously – the shower. Each home plan is different and you will need to refer to your home plan design in order to know what your included features are.
You may choose to invest more into your bath by adding a ceramic tile shower, a shower door, or both!
There are many pre-priced options available, I encourage you to check out each one. Also if you are considering a shower door, the Euro style doors are only available for ceramic tile showers, however framed doors can be added to both tile and fiberglass.
Bathrooms are a space that often requires more “function” than form. But your bathroom should be both!
