Eastbrook Homes is pleased to announce the sale of the Macatawa Legends Golf and Country Club to Watermark Properties, owner and operator of several other golf courses and clubhouses in the West Michigan area.
Eastbrook Homes will retain ownership of The 250 acres that surround the golf course and associated property for future development and expansion, including the addition of new custom homes and condominiums.
Watermark Properties is planning a series of renovations and improvements to the property. In a recent MIBiz.com article, Watermark Properties COO Craig Smith explained some of the company’s plans.
“We are planning a quality restoration of Macatawa Legends Golf Club that everyone will love,” Watermark Properties COO Craig Smith said in a statement. “In addition to clubhouse upgrades, golf course improvements, the remodel of the restaurant and new special event rooms, we are planning to add new LiveGolf studios/simulators for fall and winter time use as well as lessons all year long.”
The remodeling will include the following improvements –
- The event space will be moved upstairs to have a view of the pristine golf course.
- The current restaurant upstairs will be moved downstairs and given a new name and menu, so be on the lookout for the latest Holland dining experience
- The lower level bar will be rebranded as a the new Mac Legends Grill and Bar
- LiveGolf simulators will be added in to the downstairs space
- The golf course will undergo continued improvements.
Eastbrook Homes’ CEO, Mick McGraw, quoted in the Grand Rapids Business Journal, stated, “Watermark Properties’ purchase of the golf club will take Macatawa Legends to its greatest potential.”
The golf course and clubhouse at Macatawa Legends will be closed from January 1st through April 15th, 2019, while the upgrades and improvements are completed.
Watermark Properties currently owns and operates private golf and country clubs in the Holland and Grand Rapids area, including Watermark Country Club in Forest Hills, StoneWater Country Club in Crystal Springs, Georgetown Township’s Sunnybrook Country Club, and Thousand Oaks Country Club in Plainfield Township.
