Holiday Homeowner Highlight with Alexis & Bentley
Holiday Homeowner Highlight with Alexis & Bentley
Welcome back to our Home for the Holidays series! Today, we’re visiting with Cooks Crossing homeowner Alexis, who is celebrating her first holiday season in her new Stafford Home with Bentley, her Bernese Mountain Dog. Bentley is an Internet celebrity, with his own Instagram account where he and Alexis discuss homeownership, and Bentley’s ability to sniff out the tastiest presents hiding under the tree.
By the way, Bentley would love to hear from you so please visit him on Instagram @bernesebentley Let’s see what Alexis has to share, and be sure to check out the pictures below of the beautiful place Bentley calls home!
EBH: When did you move into your home?
Alexis: January 2017, this is our first holiday season in our new home
EBH: What is your holiday season decoration inspiration?
Alexis: Our holiday inspiration comes from a combination of places, including Pinterest, HGTV, online blogs, and even just shopping around to find things we like.
EBH: Are you hosting any holiday parties in your new home?
Alexis: We actually have a few holiday parties planned! Our motto for parties in our new home is “The more the merrier!” We love our open floor plan which allows us to host often, and to enjoy good times with all of our company. And, our sweet pup Bentley loves being able to snuggle by the fireplace without missing any of the attention that was promised by our visitors.
EBH: What does “home for the holidays” mean to you?
Alexis: Home for the holidays means being with family, snuggling by the fireplace, and big mugs of hot chocolate with marshmallows. And, if we’re really lucky, sun shining and snow falling outside of our big living room windows, which is one of our favorite features by the way!
EBH: How does owning a pet affect your decorating decisions?
Alexis: We did have to give up a real tree. Also, we put presents under the tree at the last minute. Bentley has a way of finding and unwrapping any of HIS gifts, or any gifts for others that he thinks smell nice!
EBH: Do you have any other fun facts you would like to share?
Alexis: The most common question on Bentley’s Instagram is about our home: how do we keep our rug white, and how often do we sweep our floors? We vacuum and shake the rug once a week and dry clean it as needed. We also sweep the floors once a week. Although they always look clean, its really because the floors hide a lot! We love our home. We are really glad we decided to extend the flooring through the living room, and that we chose the floor to ceiling fireplace, third stall garage, and the huge windows for every room.
Alexis and Bentley have made a beautiful home where dogs can be dogs and the floors can take it. Be sure to visit them on Instagram for more pictures of Bentley hamming it up in Cooks Crossing.
