Holiday Homeowner Highlight: Countdown Edition

As the holiday season gets closer, it’s important to remember what makes this time of year so special: getting to celebrate with friends and family! At Eastbrook Homes, every new homeowner becomes part of the Eastbrook community and leaves their own special mark through their unique holiday traditions and celebrations.

So, in this Holiday Homeowner Highlight, we’re looking back at some previous Eastbrook homeowners who have been part of our community over the years, and revisiting their stories to get us into the celebratory spirit. Pour yourself a cup of hot chocolate, pull out your coziest slippers, and gather by the fire as we hear these holiday tales from the spirits of homeowners past!

What home plan did you build or buy? 

We built The Taylor home plan because we love the open feeling, the large bar for entertaining, and the upper-level laundry

What’s your favorite way to spread holiday cheer?

We love to donate to Toys for Tots by doing a day of shopping for them and or adopting a family.

What does “Home for the Holidays” mean to you?

Home for the Holidays for us means taking the time to make memories of the special moments the holiday season brings for your family and to soak up the precious moments with all of our loved ones.

Adam and Aimee

What home plan did you build or buy?

We bought The Stockton plan and incorporated several upgrades.

What’s your favorite way to spread holiday cheer?

My favorite way to spread holiday cheer is to host gatherings. I love to cook and have everyone over for drinks and games. I am so looking forward to that now that I have a huge beautiful home to do so.

What does “Home for the Holidays” mean to you?

Home for the holidays means everything to us now that we have children. Being able to be home in Michigan with family and friends makes Christmas feel “real.” It never really felt like Christmas while in Florida because it was just the two of us, there was no snow, and it was so warm. We are excited to not only share traditions we grew up with but to start new ones with our children that they can hopefully one day pass down.

Lincoln

What home plan did you build?

I chose to customize The Mackinaw home plan.

Why did you choose to live in Town Square?

Prior to choosing Town Square, I lived in another Eastbrook Homes community for many years. Therefore, I was already aware of the quality craftmanship Eastbrook builds.

Town Square offered some of the most unique and customizable home designs that fit my living style. It was also the perfect location for me because it was close to several lakes, situated conveniently next to a local grocery store and is only minutes away from Grand Rapids.

What do you love about the Rockford/Grand Rapids area?

Rockford is a little oasis just outside of the bustling city of Grand Rapids. Both cities have a wealth of adventure to explore! I love Rockford for its small-town feel and natural scenery. One of my favorite spots is the “Dam” downtown. My family and I have taken many summer strolls around the area. The lakes that surround my community are simply beautiful. Grand Rapids provides the energy that inspires my creativity as an artist. The magnificent cultural events and outdoor live concerts at the Frederick Meijer Gardens are just a few of the things that make the city golden!

What home plan did you choose?

We have The Sebastian and love it!

What was it like working with Eastbrook Homes?

The process was great!  Whenever there was something not quite right, Eastbrook did a great job of making sure it was corrected. We are also really impressed with the design process. We had a big list of things we wanted in our house and Eastbrook was able to say yes to almost all of it!

Do you have any tips for people interested in building a new Eastbrook Home?

My biggest tip is to do research by going to a parade of homes. Online pictures can be helpful, but we found the best way to research what you want in a new home is by seeing it in person.

What home plan do you have?

We have The Hearthside (a main floor master).

How do you prepare your home for the holidays?

Our trees are always up before Thanksgiving, Christmas music is always blaring, and we are most likely baking a Christmas treat.

Do you have any tips or tricks for new homeowners?

Picking out the floor plan is the most important thing. You should also think of things that you cannot change or upgrade at a later date. A plug in the pantry for the coffee maker and toaster oven are life changers! Also, a plug in the closet for the vacuum cleaner.

What home plan do you have?

We have The Stafford.

What does “home for the holidays” mean to you?

Alexis: Home for the holidays means being with family, snuggling by the fireplace, and big mugs of hot chocolate with marshmallows. And, if we’re really lucky, the sun shining and snow falling outside of our big living room windows, which is one of our favorite features by the way!

What is your holiday season decoration inspiration?

Our holiday inspiration comes from a combination of places, including Pinterest, HGTV, online blogs, and even just shopping around to find things we like.
