Welcome to another Hearth and Home spotlight with Eastbrook Homes. This week, we will be talking with Pam and Dave about their Aspen home as well as their wonderful experience building with Eastbrook Homes.
Pam also gave us some information about their design sources, Dave’s man cave, and her own “private island.”
Please welcome Pam and Dave to this week’s Hearth and Home series!
EBH: When did you move into your home?
P&D: Our move-in date was June 2018.
EBH: What home plan do you have?
P&D: Our home plan base is the Aspen, but we customized most of our floor plan. We moved our stairway, which gave us a wider entry/hallway and a direct view of the doubled sided stone fireplace. We also added a closet to the laundry room/half bath area, added an extra cabinet in the kitchen. I have lots of cabinet space and counter top area this way. We love our full-size island (my first one ever).
EBH: What is your decorating inspiration?
P&D: Our decoration inspiration is the white/clean farm theme. We enjoy bringing the outside in with all the windows in the Michigan room and the slider off the deck in the dining room. Trees, Inc did a great job with all our landscaping, they are a great company to work with.
EBH: What are your favorite features in your home?
P&D: There are so many features to choose from. We love our double stone fireplace, large kitchen island, windows with an outdoor view, and a large shower in the master bath. I use the “flex” room as my library and my personal space. Dave uses our finished basement as his “man cave” (MSU), it has room for a custom build shuffleboard table, multiple lounge chairs and a 75″ TV mounted on the wall plus an exercise machine. Our home is a MUST SEE to really appreciate the build quality and use of space.
EBH: What was your building process /Eastbrook experience like?
P&D: Our experience with Eastbrook was overall very positive. They addressed any questions and concerns with us promptly. Robin R. and her team were great. We still love to stop in and see them at the open houses. We thoroughly enjoyed the Home Creation Studio in Grand Rapids, where we worked with Sara, she was very helpful and knowledgeable. We loved how our choices turned out. During the building process, Kyle L. sure knew his stuff; I think some of my “silly” questions made him laugh. I feel fortunate that we worked with such great people. After our close, we have worked with Dave, another great person.
EBH: Do you have any tips or tricks for new homeowners?
P&D: Tips; Our tip would be to let Eastbrook know your concerns and ask questions. Be patient, it all works out and turns out beautifully.
EBH: Any other thoughts you would like to add?
P&D: Our home is built beautifully, we are very happy with the result. We highly recommend Eastbrook Homes to anyone.
