Next, let’s talk Flooring! When choosing the right flooring for your home, it is important to consider these factors: moisture, durability, cost and style. Let’s explore the different types of flooring that we offer and how to choose the right fit for your home.
Sheet Vinyl flooring is included in your kitchens, dining areas, baths and mudrooms. This product is known for its durability and how easy it is to clean. Eastbrook offers you a variety of patterns and thicknesses to choose from. There are some vinyl floors that look so much like tile that you have to actually feel them in order to tell the difference.
Laminate flooring is a popular choice for active households. It is extremely durable in your kitchens, dining areas, family rooms and mudrooms. We offer many beautiful laminate patterns and choices. The visuals are amazing when compared to wood and at times it can be very hard to visually tell the difference. A few things to consider though when choosing laminate: We will not install laminate in wet locations; aka your bathrooms. Laminate is louder under foot because it floats when installed and requires transition strips between rooms, depending on how far the material extends. You will need to consult your designer for more details.
Another great option is Engineered Wood Flooring. Which is constructed of an engineered core and a real wood veneer. This flooring is great for Michigan’s ever changing weather and avoids some of the challenges that can be experienced with solid hardwood. Given that the top layer is still wood it’s possible to scratch and dent these floors and you cannot refinish Engineered Wood the same way you can Solid Hardwood.
A rising star in the flooring world is Luxury Vinyl Plank. It is a great option for all areas of your home, Kitchens, Laundry Rooms, and even Bathrooms. This is due to its durability and water resistance. You will not need transition stips when covering large expanses and can choose from our wide range of finish colors and styles. These products have a great value and great look.
We cannot forget to give a shout out to Solid hardwood. This classic option for those who love the look of traditional wood flooring. Solid hardwood is timeless and an advantage to selecting it is that it can be refinished if need be. Solid Hardwood and Engineered wood floors are not suitable for concrete floors, so you’ll want to avoid choosing those options on your foundation.
A popular option for baths, outside of our awesome sheet vinyls, is Tile. Tile comes in a variety of sizes, colors, and shapes and can be installed in various patterns. It is a unique way to add your personal style to your home, while increasing the durability of your flooring. This type of flooring can be used throughout your space – but is often preferential in bathrooms or mudrooms. Tile can be hard and cold under your feet, so consider adding a heated underlayment if you’re a fan of cozy toes.
Carpet adds immediate warmth and comfort to any home. We offer many different styles of carpet, from Jewel tones to Tone on Tone, and even Patterns. Additionally, you will choose from the two main types of carpet: Nylon or Polyester fibers.
Nylon fibers tend to wear better, where as polyester fibers tend to be more stain resistant.
We have various Carpet Pads available as well. You can work with your designer on which one is right for you. Keep in mind that a higher pound pad does not mean softer under foot. Simply put, its more dense and adds to the longevity of your carpeting.
Flooring, though often underrated, provides important continuity and warmth to your home. From carpeting, to tile, to solid wood floors, our Home Creation Studio offers you the options you’ll need when choosing the right flooring for each room and space.
