Summer Guide to Lansing
Lansing has become one of the hottest housing markets in the country, and with all there is to do and see in the Greater Lansing area, it’s no wonder. There are other reasons Lansing has become a popular destination for new home buyers including a great job market, affordable housing, and a cost of living that’s gentle on budgets.
With summer underway, it’s a great time to highlight some of the terrific attractions in Greater Lansing. If you’re looking for something to do or you are new to the area, here’s are some of our favorite stops.
Get Up, Get Going…
Grab a hot cup of coffee at Strange Matter – or iced if you prefer, and then go see what Lansing has to offer.
Next, stop in for breakfast at Dusty’s Cellar to sample some of Lansing’s best pastries.
Take a walk in the park to burn off breakfast, or just to take in the beautiful views.
Stop by Hawk Island for a huge selection of activities that includes fishing, volleyball, and so much more.
Time to Stop and Shop
Ready for more? Then let’s explore Oldtown.
For Shoppers, Old Town has a wide variety of boutiques and unique stores.
If food is more of a focus, then stop in any of the many eateries and check out the menu.
After lunch, why not take the kids out for a day on the town?
Stop in to Potter Park Zoo and see who’s lion around.
Take a stroll through the 4-H Children’s Garden and learn about plant life.
Check out Impression 5 Science Center for an incredible, interactive learning experience
Maybe a little walk on the links before dinner?
If you’re a duffer, maybe a quick round of golf at College Fields.
How About an Afternoon Snack
Not ready for dinner? How about a time-out with a smoothie? And maybe even a snack…

Catch some live music at The Exchange. Might be Jazz, might be Blues. Will definitely be good.
IF an evening decaf is more your style, wind down with a coffee and tunes at the Blue Owl.
Or, have a nightcap at one of Lansing’s many fine night spots.

A little Country, a little Rock and Roll, check out Duke’s Saloon for some live music.
For a great beer selection and in an Irish Pub environment, stop in to Kelly’s Downtown.
