Summer Guide to Lansing

Lansing has become one of the hottest housing markets in the country, and with all there is to do and see in the Greater Lansing area, it’s no wonder. There are other reasons Lansing has become a popular destination for new home buyers including a great job market, affordable housing, and a cost of living that’s gentle on budgets.

With summer underway, it’s a great time to highlight some of the terrific attractions in Greater Lansing. If you’re looking for something to do or you are new to the area, here’s are some of our favorite stops.

Get Up, Get Going…

Grab a hot cup of coffee at Strange Matter – or iced if you prefer, and then go see what Lansing has to offer.

Next, stop in for breakfast at Dusty’s Cellar to sample some of Lansing’s best pastries.

Break Time!

Take a walk in the park to burn off breakfast, or just to take in the beautiful views.

Walk the 20 miles of River Trail and run right into Old Town.

Stop by Hawk Island for a huge selection of activities that includes fishing, volleyball, and so much more.

Time to Stop and Shop

Ready for more? Then let’s explore Oldtown.

For Shoppers, Old Town has a wide variety of boutiques and unique stores.

If food is more of a focus, then stop in any of the many eateries and check out the menu.

After lunch, why not take the kids out for a day on the town?

Stop in to Potter Park Zoo and see who’s lion around.

Take a stroll through the 4-H Children’s Garden and learn about plant life.

Check out Impression 5 Science Center for an incredible, interactive learning experience

Maybe a little walk on the links before dinner?

If you’re a duffer, maybe a quick round of golf at College Fields.

How About an Afternoon Snack

Not ready for dinner? How about a time-out with a smoothie? And maybe even a snack…

Stop in to Toaste and take a little break.

Ride the flavor wave at Surf City Squeeze

Now We’re Cooking

Now it’s time to see what’s cooking at some of Lansing’s finest restaurants

You can be a chooser if you stop in to Beggar’s Banquet for a fine dining experience

For a lighter atmosphere, check out the games – and the food, at the Rusty Mug.

Feeling more adventurous? Why not try the Burmese, That, and Malaysian flavors at the Naing Myanmar Family Restaurant

How about a little authentic French cuisine at The Creole?

Lansing’s Lovely Later Too

After dinner, go for a stroll or head downtown to experience Lansing at night.

How about an evening cruise the Michigan Princess for a little rollin’ on the river.

Catch some live music at The Exchange. Might be Jazz, might be Blues. Will definitely be good.

IF an evening decaf is more your style, wind down with a coffee and tunes at the Blue Owl.

Or, have a nightcap at one of Lansing’s many fine night spots.

Check out American Fifth Spirits – Lansing’s first distillery.

A little Country, a little Rock and Roll, check out Duke’s Saloon for some live music.
